“Memory Cloth” is a textile workshop that invites participants to transform fragments of their own history into a conscious act of remembrance. Participants work with pieces of fabric that carry memories - heirloom textiles, heirloom textiles, worn garments or fabric marked by the passage of time - and use them to create their own “memory cloth”. Materials are provided, and participants are warmly encouraged to bring lightweight fabrics of their own.
Using the traditional Korean patchwork technique Jogakbo, participants hand-sew their selected fragments into an individual Bojagi cloth. The process takes place in a shared, communal atmosphere that offers a mindful space for reflection and quiet connection.
The finished memory cloth becomes both a functional object and a personal keepsake: a textile wrap for cherished items or an aesthetic piece for the home that continues to carry and preserve personal stories.
