Memory Cloth – Bojagi & Jogakbo Workshop | Sat, June 13 | Berlin

€95.00

“Memory Cloth” is a textile workshop that invites participants to transform fragments of their own history into a conscious act of remembrance. Participants work with pieces of fabric that carry personal memories - heirloom textiles or materials marked by the passage of time - and use them to create their own “memory cloth”.

Using the traditional Korean patchwork technique Jogakbo, participants hand-sew their selected fragments into a new textile. Through the slow, rhythmic motions of stitching, individual fabric remnants come together to form a cloth that embodies both absence and presence. Each seam becomes an act of care, and each piece of fabric a carrier of stories.

Although each participant creates an individual cloth, the process takes place in a shared, communal atmosphere. The workshop offers a mindful space for reflection and quiet connection.

The resulting memory cloth functions both as an object and as a symbol: as a textile container for cherished items, as a companion in small remembrance rituals, or as an aesthetic element in one’s home.
